Raised in Rome, he also developed his career as a painter there. He was an apprentice of the Perugian artist Giovanni Domenico Angelini (Giandomenico Perugino). Gramatica was famous for his portraits, like the one we present here. This Veronica, the woman depicted in the painting, seems to hide the features of a gentlewoman. It is depicted frontally and built with the usual monumental style used by Gramatica in his works.

In Rom aufgewachsen, entwickelte er dort auch seine Karriere als Maler. Er war ein Schüler des peruanischen Künstlers Giovanni Domenico Angelini (Giandomenico Perugino). Gramatica war berühmt für seine Porträts, wie das, das wir hier zeigen. Diese Veronika, die Frau auf dem Gemälde, scheint die Züge einer Dame zu verbergen. Sie ist frontal dargestellt und in dem üblichen monumentalen Stil gebaut, den Gramatica in seinen Werken verwendet.
